MOLINE, ILLINOIS (December 24, 2019) — Quad City Arts Art @ the Airport presents Emily Fitzpatrick’s landscape paintings, Kelly Schnell’s acrylic paintings, and Colleen Curry’s mixed-media fiber art. All three women are from Iowa. The exhibit is from January 3-March 3, 2020, at the Quad City International Airport Gallery, 2200 69th Ave, Moline, Illinois.

Emily Fitzpatrick’s pastel paintings depict mostly Midwestern landscapes with varying times of year and day. Her work tends to focus on the sky with rolling hill landscapes, which supports contrasts and emphasizes some aspect of the ever-changing atmosphere above.

Kelly Schnell draws inspiration from nature for her abstract paintings. Through the use of stenciling, loose brushstrokes, and dripped paint, she creates a wonderland of color and texture that evoke gardens, rain, and other biomorphic conditions.

Colleen Curry’s work uses many fine art techniques. She calls herself a mixed-media fiber artist and uses a variety of materials and techniques in order to achieve the affect she is looking for in each piece of her work. Her art quilts are representational and abstract, giving them a non-traditional flair to them.

Art @ the Airport in The Quad City International airport gallery is easy to find. It is just across from the gift shop and restaurant and right before the security checkpoint. The gallery never closes, and you will pay just a dollar for parking.
