ALEDO, ILLINOIS (October 30, 2026) — The Aledo Opera House is proud to announce singer-songwriter and renowned upright bassist Scott Mulvahill will perform live in concert on Saturday, November 7, 7PM.

Scott will be offering an educational clinic at the Aledo Opera House on Friday, November 6, 12:30-2PM for local students. No RSVP is required for the educational clinic, but seating is limited.

Mulvahill cut his teeth as a member of Kentucky Thunder, Ricky Skaggs’ acclaimed band. The group toured internationally for five years, backed by the bottom-heavy pulse of Mulvahill’s upright bass. His nightly performances laid the brickwork for Mulvahill’s transition from sideman to frontman.

He’s performed hundreds of concerts, appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert and Mountain Stage, and collaborated with luminary artists such as Cory Wong, Cody Fry, Ben Rector, Lauren Daigle, Keb Mo, Oliver Hazard, HER, and many more.

Mulvahill breaks new ground with his custom engineered DataBass, a revolutionary instrument combining the traditional upright bass with the power of MIDI sampling. Designed and built by Mulvahill, DataBass expands what is possible with the upright bass and erases the boundaries of what can be done as a solo performer. In August 2024, Scott performed a talk for TEDxNashville, demonstrating the instrument, what it can do, and the philosophy behind its creation.

“As important as the bass is to the sound of my music, it’s not a crutch,” he says.

“To me, the songwriting, the voice, and the message are what really matter.”

Located at 108 Southeast 2nd Avenue in Aledo, Illinois, the Aledo Opera House is a beautifully-restored historic 1904 theater that offers an intimate and acoustically-rich setting with modern technology — perfect for appreciating Mulvahill’s unique sound.

Tickets are available now and seating is limited. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy the full experience of this unforgettable night.
