DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 8, 2021) — The Ridgecrest Foundation is honored to host what they are calling a “Welcome Home Social” on Friday, June 25, 2021, at Ridgecrest Village. To fund this spectacular event, earlier this year the Ridgecrest Foundation hosted its first-ever online auction. The goal was to raise enough funds to host this Welcome Home Social. It has succeeded. The Ridgecrest Foundation had some funds donated to the Life Enrichment Projects for events like this. It combined them with the auction and raised almost $8200.

With this funding, and the support of the Quad Cities communities, the dream has come true. During the day of the event, the Quad City Metro Arts Youth Program (young adults ages 15-21) will be “chalking” the village along with a local artist, Sarah Robb from Robb Designs. The theme for the event is “A Tour of Italy.” They will be on campus from 11AM–3PM. They will draw images on the sidewalks of Ridgecrest to create an Italian-themed mood for the social scheduled later that day.

The Welcome Home Social will include: Streets of Italy Food Truck and Here’s the Scoop Ice Cream Truck.  Hy-Vee is sponsoring a portion of the side dishes. There will be no cost to Ridgecrest Village’s residents, family, and friends.  Along with great food, there will also be music: Troy Rangel will be playing 4-5PM; Jordan Danielsen, 5-6PM; and Buddy Olson, 6-7PM. There will be dancing, conversation, community, and an overall appreciation of being able to celebrate together.

As many of you are aware, Ridgecrest Village had to shut their doors to visitors in March of 2020. Only recently CDC guidance has been allowing minimal visitors. The Ridgecrest Foundation created this event to bring back that sense of fun, family, friends, conversation, and social togetherness. This event is scheduled for June 25, 2021, 4-7PM, at the Ridgecrest Village campus. The rain-out date is set for July 16, 2021.

Ridgecrest Foundation is a non-profit organization that supports the efforts of Ridgecrest Village, a non-profit retirement community. Located on 22 acres in Davenport, it offers many lifestyle and care options including Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, Long Term Care and Skilled Care.
