Davenport, IA — The Quad Cities River Bandits six-game winning streak came to an end at Modern Woodmen Park on Monday night in a 6-3 loss to the Fort Wayne TinCaps.  The Bandits fell to 5-7 at their home ballpark with the loss.

The River Bandits used the long ball to take the lead in the bottom of the third inning.  Cody Bohanek led off by lining a single up the middle and into center field.  The next batter, Jake Meyers, lifted a ball over the wall in left center field for his second home run of the season.  The round-tripper gave the Bandits a 2-0 advantage.

Fort Wayne bounced back to take the lead in the fifth inning.  Justin Lopez opened the frame with a base hit into left field. River Bandits starting pitcher Cesar Rosado walked Juan Fernandez and then allowed another single to Jack Suwinski which loaded the bases. Jeisson Rosario plated the first run with a sacrifice fly to the warning track in center field that allowed all three runners to tag up and advance 90 feet.  Gabriel Arias followed by dropping a base hit into shallow center field that scored both runners and gave the TinCaps a 3-2 lead.

The TinCaps gave themselves more breathing room with a three-run ninth inning.  They loaded the bases against Robert Corniel with a walk and two singles, before Rosario grounded a single down the left field line to plate one run.  Arias followed with a two-run single of his own to widen the gap to 6-2.  Arias finished with four runs batted in.

Colton Shaver scored Michael Papierski with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the ninth to reach the final score of 6-3.

Rosado worked 5.2 innings and allowed three runs on five hits.  He struck out five and walked a pair. Corniel pitched the next 3.0 innings, surrendering three runs on four hits while striking out six and walking one.  Cole Watts recorded one out with a strikeout after walking the first batter he faced in a brief appearance out of the bullpen.

The River Bandits mustered only five hits as a team.  Adrian Tovalin was responsible for two of them.

The River Bandits (16-13) and TinCaps (14-17) meet again on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m.  RHP Peter Solomon (0-1, 3.24) will make the start for the River Bandits and LHP MacKenzie Gore (0-0, 6.00) will counter for the TinCaps.
