Davenport, IA – Bank of America is partnering with River Bend Foodbank through their Give a Meal program to help the 1 in 8 adults and 1 in 5 children who face hunger in eastern Iowa and western Illinois. This program helps reduce food insecurity in our community and in communities around the country. For every $1 donated ONLINE, the Bank of America Charitable Foundation will give $2 more, up to $1.5 million nationwide. River Bend Foodbank has set a goal to raise $25,000.00 through this program, which Bank of America will match 2 to 1. This will result in the Foodbank receiving an additional $50,000.00 (for a total of $75,000.00). Reaching this goal will provide 375,000 meals for hungry people! “Give a Meal’s 2-for-1 is the best matching gift opportunity all year long,” said Michael Miller, President & CEO of River Bend Foodbank, “and we are very thankful to Bank of America for providing it. But we only receive their gift in proportion to individual gifts received, so it is essential for community members to max out this opportunity. With the match, every $1 contributed provides 15 meals for people in need.” Providing consistent access to food and support toward financial stability can be critical for families facing hunger. By working together, Bank of America and River Bend Foodbank can help ensure that families don’t have to choose between putting food on the table and paying bills. “Bank of America in the Quad Cities is proud to support River Bend Foodbank through our Give A Meal program,” said Heidi Parkhurst, Bank of America Iowa Market President. “This program is a wonderful chance for individuals to support their community and most importantly the hungry in eastern Iowa and western Illinois.” Will you help?
