DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 11, 2019) — The River Music Experience (RME) is celebrating its 15th anniversary with three free concerts for all ages throughout the week.

"The RME's mission is to transform lives in the Quad Cities by providing opportunities to listen, learn, and play music," Tyson Danner, Executive Director of the RME, said. "Part of how we do that is by offering free concerts to give all members of our community a chance to experience live music in a safe and inclusive environment."

The free activities start with Guest List featuring Lindsay Lou & Austin Thompson on Wednesday night; a special block party edition of Friday Live@Five featuring Miles Nielsen and The Rusted Hearts and more; and then, on Saturday, RME and Quad City Arts are teaming up with Friends of MLK to bring Jazzy Ash and The Leapin' Lizards to the 2019 Juneteenth celebration held at the Mississippi Valley Fair Grounds.

"Between the three free shows we have this week, there's something for everyone," Kate Dale, Director of Entertainment at RME, said. "An Americana show in the Redstone Room on Wednesday with Guest List featuring Lindsay Lou, a rock show at our Anniversary Live@Five on Friday with Miles Nielsen and The Rusted Hearts, and then a family-focused jazz show at Juneteenth with Jazzy Ash and The Leapin' Lizards."

The biggest event the week, the special Anniversary Live@Five on Friday, will be a block party held in RME's courtyard and on 2nd Street between Main and Brady. Four bands will perform including Miles Nielsen and the Rusted Hearts, Elizabeth Moen, The Velies, and Vinyl. Gates open at 4:30PM and Vinyl kicks off the music at 5PM. Local businesses like Abernathys will be present selling their wares, Davenport Junior Theatre will be offering face painting, and some more family-friendly activities will be there.

More information about all three events can be found at RME's website, rivermusicexperience.org.
