DAVENPORT, IOWA (June 3, 2019) — The River Music Experience's Summer Live@Five concert series kicks off this Friday, June 7, featuring Blues Rock-It. Blues Rock-It is a high-energy blues and soul band based out of the Quad Cities.
Almost every Friday in June through September, at 5PM, members of the community can come experience live music that is completely free and for all ages.
"The series has been around for nearly a decade with attendance growing every year and it has become a staple of downtown Davenport throughout the summer months," Alex Burkamper, Director of Marketing and Development for RME, said. "We have folks telling us how much they love it all year long."
The RME will host a special block-party version of Live@Five on June 14th in celebration of RME's 15th anniversary featuring Miles Nielsen and The Rusted Hearts, Elizabeth Moen of Iowa City, and local favorites The Velies. 2nd Street between Main and Brady will be closed for the day, and there will be other family-friendly activities to compliment the music.
"Every year we host a big anniversary Live@Five, but this one is special," Kate Dale, Director of Entertainment, said. "Especially after all the flooding in downtown and in our building, we're just happy to be out in the courtyard giving the gift of music to the whole community."
As an added bonus, the RME is extending Live@Five by one hour, so now music goes 5-8PM.
