DAVENPORT - The River Music Experience celebrates its 13th Anniversary this Friday (June 9th, 2017) by hosting a block party featuring live music, food from The Noshery food truck, vinyl records for sale from Nate's Record Resale, activities for children, and more.
Music starts at 4:30 p.m. with The Ellis Kell Winter Blues All Stars, followed by Jenny Lynn Stacy & The Dirty Roosters, and the night ends with the roots rocker out of , Nikki Hill.
"Nikki Hill looks back to the most confidently grizzled retro sounds... Hill's got too much passion to tidy things up, but she knows exactly what she's doing." SPIN wrote about Hill.
The Anniversary block party is a special version of RME's summer concert series, Live@Five.
"This one is like a Live@Five on steroids," Deb Powers, RME's CEO, said. "We pull out all the stops for it every year. Whether that's the music or the other activities for the whole family."
The event is free and for all ages.
"RME wouldn't be around without the amazing members of our community, and we want to celebrate our anniversary with everyone," Powers said.
More information and a full schedule for Live@Five can be found on the RME's website, rivermusicexperience.org.
