Child Abuse Council of the Quad Cities Receives Charity Donation from Annual Golf Outing
Davenport, IA - Russell is pleased to announce that the Child Abuse Council Quad Cities was the recipient of the proceeds from the 29th Annual Charity Golf Outing held on Monday, September 11th at Crow Valley Golf Club in Davenport, IA.
Each year, the golf outing is organized in order to assist worthy organizations in surrounding Quad Cities communities. This year, the Child Abuse Council was selected to receive the $40,000 donation that was raised by Russell employees, sponsors, golfers, volunteers, sponsors and raffle contributors from the event. The donation is the second largest individual gift to the Child Abuse Council in its history.
“Our event has become so successful thanks to the efforts of everyone involved. It’s an event that we look forward to every year,” noted Jim Russell, President.
The Child Abuse Council is a bi-state, regional, non-profit agency that was established in 1977 as a prevention program, attempting to eliminate child abuse and neglect in the Quad Cities. Today, it is the QC’s only child abuse prevention agency. They focus on children five years and younger in hopes of creating a strong foundation for a healthy, successful future. “Russell’s investment will keep more kids safe and change the lives of many families”, says Angie Kendall, Director of Development and Communications for the Child Abuse Council.
