CLIVE, Iowa, July 19, 2017 – A Scott County couple has been playing the new “Cash Lift” scratch game, and one small win turned into one big $50,000 win.

Roylee Richardson, 47, of Buffalo said his wife, Farrah, 40, bought him a Cash Lift ticket and he won $10 on it.

“I went and turned it in, got more tickets, of the same ticket,” explained Roylee. “It’s just, I don’t know, it’s just I kept sticking to that game.”

Roylee, who works at The Outhouse and Storage to Go in Blue Grass, purchased a couple of “Cash Lift” tickets at Locust Mart, 11423 160th St. in Davenport when he stopped there to fill up his work truck. He ended up winning the first of eight top prizes of $50,000 available in the game.

The Richardsons claimed their prize Monday at the lottery’s regional office in Cedar Rapids. They say they plan to catch up a few things with the winnings.

“Well, we’re gonna catch up on some bills,” Roylee said. “Bills that needed to be caught up on.”

Cash Lift is a $5 scratch game. More details about how to play this game, and number of prizes still up for grabs in it can be found on the Iowa Lottery’s website, www.ialottery.com.
