PLEASANT HILL, CALIFORNIA (June 25, 2026) — Team Illinois is off to a fantastic start at the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games! Halfway through the weeklong competition, the delegation’s overall medal count is:

  • Thirteen Gold
  • Twelve Silver
  • Nineteen Bronze
  • Fourteen Fourth Place
  • Five Fifth Place
  • Five Sixth Place
  • Three Seventh Place

Scott Maess of Rock Island placed seventh in Bowling, Male Singles competition for Team Illinois.

Special Olympics USA Games is uniting 3,000 athletes, 1,500 coaches, 10,000 volunteers, and 75,000 fans from all fifty states in Minnesota. Team Illinois’ eighty-person delegation includes athletes, Unified partners, coaches, and support staff. The Games began June 20 and will conclude this Friday, June 26.
