DES MOINES, IOWA (October 12, 2026) — The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) presented Senator Scott Webster of Senate District 47 with its 2026 Guardian of Small Business Award (Guardian Award).

NFIB’s Guardian Award recognizes leaders who stand up for and advocate on behalf of small businesses. Sen. Webster was selected for the award by a panel of small business owners from across the state.

“Sen Webster is an exceptional ally of Iowa’s small businesses,” said NFIB Iowa State Director Cody Carlson.

“His voting record shows his commitment to making Iowa a great place to own and operate a business. Thank you, Senator Webster, for being a strong voice for Main Street in Des Moines.”

Members of the NFIB Iowa Leadership Council, comprised of small business owners from across the state, selected him to receive this prestigious small-business award due to his strong record of standing up for Iowa small businesses.

For over eighty years, NFIB has been advocating on behalf of America’s small and independent business owners, both in Washington DC and in all fifty state capitals. NFIB is non-profit, non-partisan, and member-driven. Since our founding in 1943, NFIB has been exclusively dedicated to small and independent businesses, and remains so today.
