Upcoming Events and Reminders:
  • JOIN US FRIDAY NIGHT! QCESC STEM Professional Social and Quad City Mallards Game: January 12th: Join members of the Quad City Engineering and Science Council, area STEM Professionals and member professional societies at our annual social event at a QC Mallard's game vs. the Indy Fuel. We'll be in "The Nest", a network-friendly venue that overlooks the home-end of the ice and has easy access to concessions, the "Gerbal-Tube" to the parking deck, and exit staircase. Friday night games offer $2 beer and $2 hotdogs!
  • Scholarship Applications for Graduating HS Seniors are ONLINE NOW. Deadline is: January 23, 2018. Applicants must be a Quad City area resident in the Illinois Counties of Carroll, Henry, Knox, Lee, Mercer, Rock Island, or Whiteside, or in the Iowa Counties of Clinton, Scott, Muscatine, or Louisa. Scholarships will be awarded at our Annual QCESC Banquet on Thursday, February 22, 2018.  
  • Wednesday, January 24th: STEM TEACHERS NIGHT OUT at Assumption High School.  This is a FREE event (with Pizza!) for area STEM Teachers, School Administration & key STEM Stakeholders to collaborate and share information & ideas and see local STEM education & business facilities in Iowa & Illinois. As part of the event, we will get to learn and get hands on experience with a career exploration program with Virtual Reality (VR) that has been implemented leveraging a State of Iowa $25,000 BEST STEM grant and the 2017 FIRST Robotics World Champions from Davenport West.  PRE-REGISTRATION AND DETAILS  
  • ATTENTION PROFESSIONALS: We are now taking Nominations for our STEM Awards that go to Professionals whose exceptional achievements and outstanding contributions have made a lasting impact on technology, society, and their profession.  Nominations are Due February 4th and Awards will be given out at our Annual Banquet on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Putnam Museum. NOMINATE SOMEONE NOW! The 2018 Award nominations are being accepted for the following awards:
    • Junior Engineer of the Year (< 36 years old on 12/31/17)
    • Junior Scientist of the Year  (< 36 years old on 12/31/17)
    • Senior Engineer of the Year (36 Years or older on 12/31/17)
    • Senior Scientist of the Year (36 Years or older on 12/31/17)
    • Lifetime Achievement Award
    • STEM Teacher of the Year
  • QCESC Monthly Meeting: NEXT MEETING: Wednesday, January 17th at 6:00 P.M. at Hamilton Tech College.  Everyone is welcome to attend!
