DAVENPORT, IOWA (September 30, 2026) — Tapestry Farms invites the community to gather under the autumn sky for the second annual Harvest Moon Celebration, an evening of music and traditional Arabic sweets in support of refugees rebuilding their lives in the Quad Cities.

The event will take place on Thursday, October 8, 7PM, at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, 121 W 12th Street, Davenport.

The hour-long performance will feature New York-based lyric soprano Claire Kuttler and St Ambrose’s Nathan Windt with collaborative pianist Chris Nelson. Other special musical guests will join them throughout the evening. A variety of musical genres will be on the program, including “I Wish It So” by Blitzstein, “Our Children” from Ragtime, “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” and a special ensemble finale. After the performance, the attendees and musicians will gather for baklava and Dubai chocolate prepared by Tapestry Farms colleagues Fatima Hussein and Betul Qamizou, with table flower arrangements from Hortense Zayaro.

“Last year we focused on the moon and this year we are wishing on the stars,” says Claire Kuttler.

“I’m so glad to be back for another concert, with music that will focus on the theme of hopes and dreams.

“Those we hold for in our hearts, the ones we carry for children, both our own and our community’s, and all those dreams coming to beautiful, blooming fruition. This is music that speaks to what the Tapestry Farms mission and community embodies. I will be joined by other wonderful musicians and we can’t wait to share this music that will ignite your imagination and bring comfort to your soul.”

Highlights of the evening include:

  • A performance by Claire Kuttler, lyric soprano and Davenport native now based in NYC and performing on national stages like the Metropolitan Opera and Carnegie Hall.
  • A performance by Nathan Windt, a celebrated vocalist, conductor of opera, and director of choral activities at St Ambrose University.
  • The exceptional musical skills of Chris Nelson, organist and music director at St Paul Lutheran Church in Davenport and organ instructor at Augustana College.
  • After the performance, attendees will gather for baklava and Dubai chocolate prepared by Tapestry Farms colleagues Fatima Hussein and Betul Qamizou, with table flower arrangements from Hortense Zayaro.

All proceeds from the evening will benefit Tapestry Farms in their work connecting refugees and neighbors in a shared hope of joyful, healthy lives — where every person has access to the resources they need to live well. Through farming, advocacy, and partnership, the organization creates opportunities for stability, belonging, and success.

“We are so happy to welcome our community to Harvest Moon for this second year of absolutely sublime musicianship. It is important to come together, share in a meaningful experience, and remind ourselves of our shared humanity,” says Ann McGlynn, founder and executive director of Tapestry Farms.

“We hope this concert will lift spirits and inspire a sense of hope. We are so very grateful to the incredible musicians who will share pieces that reflect the beauty, resilience, and power of music to bring us together.”

Tickets begin at $50.
