Phil Young won the 5k in 16:31 and Ben Lloyd won the 5 mile in 28:19 at the Run with Carl race (Sept. 3, Bettendorf).

Nate Hopp won the 10k at the NewBo Run (Sept. 2, Cedar Rapids) in 33:30.  Susie Duke was 3rd women in the Half-Marathon, going through the 10k in 42:41.

Sevcik brothers ran early season cross country meets . . . Tim was 18th at the Hawkeye Invitational 6k 18:59 (Aug. 31, Iowa City) and JP was 3rd at the Central-Dutch Invitational 6k 20:30 (Aug. 31, Pella).

Stan Linton won the Prairie Fest 5k (Aug. 25, Huxley) by almost 4 minutes in 15:06.

* Cross country meets abound in every corner of Iowa for the next few months.  Runablaze Iowa runners were former top prep and state xc champions  . . . fast forward these same runners can often be found coaching high school runners.  The season cumulates for Runablaze Iowa at the USATF club xc championship, this year in Spokane, WA on December 8.

* BIG marathons are also on tap during the fall - biggies like Chicago (Oct. 7) and New York (Nov. 4).  Closer to home IMT Des Moines (Oct. 21), Quad Cities (Sept. 23) and Twin Cities (Oct. 7).
