All Proceeds to Benefit TPQC
Rock Island, IL: Friday, August 25th is going to be a humdinger for QC residents. People often say that laughter is the best medicine. It is with this notion in mind that The Project of the Quad Cities is partnering up with The Establishment in Rock Island to bring the community A Night of Heroic Hilarity. The performers at The Establishment will be providing super-hero themed improvisational comedy to all attendees at 9:30pm. This show is rated R with all proceeds from the door being generously donated by The Establishment.
Of this upcoming event, Marketing Development Coordinator Mike Bennett said, “I am so excited that TPQC was able to team up with The Establishment to kick off our Heroes of Zero campaign. We believe that the only difference between an ordinary person and a hero is the gumption to take action. Action to help others. The owners and comedians at The Establishment are proving they aren’t here just to make us laugh, but that they are also fixtures of the community ready to help the cause!”
Adding more, Owner/Operator of The Establishment Patrick Adamson had this to say, “The Establishment is a place founded by community involvement, every weekend our comedy shows are for everyone. A Night of Heroic Hilarity is a chance for us to help strengthen that tie to our community. When we laugh together, we bond, at once comedy helps celebrate the commonalities and the absurdities of our lives."
To continue its path of excellence, TPQC plans to execute the following initiatives:
· Providing health management, coordinated care services and advocacy to those impacted by HIV/STI/AIDS and other related conditions.
· Break down stigmas among different communities.
· Diligently provide education and intervention services to our community.
· Engage and Interact within the community.
About The Project of the Quad Cities: The Project of the Quad Cities is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community based organization that was established in 1986 to provide services to those at risk of contracting, affected by, or living with STI/HIV/AIDS.
TPQC is the only HIV/STI/AIDS service organization in a 60 mile radius of the Quad Cities. We have three offices, two in Moline, IL and one in Davenport, IA and we serve approximately 300 clients, many of which live 200% below the poverty level.
It is our mission to be committed to fight the battle against STI/HIV/AIDS. It is with this mission in mind, and our community’s best interest at heart, that we provide education, prevention services, and assistance to our clients.
We will continue to work diligently to provide education and intervention services to our community, as the rates in TPQC’s service area indicate that HIV is not just a “big city” problem.
