DES MOINES, IOWA (October 21, 2019) — State Treasurer Michael L Fitzgerald is encouraging Iowans to review their retirement plans in celebration of National Save for Retirement Week. "I'm asking Iowans to challenge themselves to take action during National Save for Retirement Week to make sure they are on track for a secure retirement," Fitzgerald stated.

National Save for Retirement Week (October 20-26) is a countrywide effort to raise public knowledge about the importance of saving for retirement.

National Save for Retirement Week provides an opportunity for employees to reflect on their personal-retirement goals and determine if they are on target to reach those goals. "My office is committed to providing all Iowans with unbiased financial-information and resources," Fitzgerald said. The treasurer's website, IowaTreasurer.gov, offers a list of resources — from simulation games to savings calculators.
