DAVENPORT, IOWA (February 22, 2019) — Two experienced racing promoters will direct more than 20 weekly and special event race dates this season at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds’ Davenport Speedway. That’s according to fairgrounds general manager Shawn Loter, who released the 2019 racing schedule.

Former driver and longtime motorsports promoter Bill Schwader of Motor Sports Promotions will direct weekly events on Friday nights. Bob Wagener of DRT Trak Promotions, who has been affiliated with the Davenport facility for many years, will promote five special events.

Races will utilize both the quarter-mile and half-mile ovals.

“The historic speedway will be International Motor Contest Association (IMCA) sanctioned again this year,” said Loter, “and we plan to announce more special events as dates become available.”

The season opens Friday, April 12, with the Rebel 5k, an IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Seriesraces. It closes Saturday, September 28, with the Governor’s Cup, an IMCA Deery Brothers Summer Series race, and Modified Madness 2K.
