BETTENDORF, IOWA (July 10, 2024) — United Way Quad Cities is proud to announce $144,763 awarded to twelve local organizations through the Emergency Food and Shelter Program, funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
The grants are federally funded and administered by United Way Quad Cities. They are available to 501(c)3 non-profits, faith-based organizations, and government organizations that provide emergency food, shelter, and rental assistance in Scott or Rock Island counties.
FEMA provided allocations of $75,126 for Rock Island County and $69,637 for Scott County.
Organizations who received Emergency Food and Shelter Program funding include:

• Christian Care
• Church of Peace
• Community Action of Eastern Iowa
• Family Resources Inc
• Friendly House
• Heart of Hope Ministries
• Humility Homes and Services
• SAL Community Services
• St Anthony's Church
• The Salvation Army
• YWCA of the Quad Cities
Decisions for the grant awards are completed by a local decision-making board, based on applications submitted earlier this year.
