BETTENDORF, IOWA (January 14, 2020) — United Way of the Quad Cities will host more than 40 leaders of local non-profit organizations on January 16, 8-9:30AM, for the first session of their new BOLD Institute, a program aimed at strengthening and supporting human-service nonprofits to increase their ability to create change in the region. This event will be held at The Birchwood Fields Learning Center, 4620 E 53rd Street, in Davenport.
Each session will engage local business leaders in discussions, centered on their area of expertise, with non-profit leaders to help build capacity. In the first session, Ryan Cannady, Chief Retail Officer at Deere Employees Credit Union, will lead a discussion and share practical tips on fund development. Amy Behning, co-owner of MindFire Communications, will then discuss ways each organization can improve their marketing and communications efforts. All attendees will receive hands-on tools to help implement what they’ve learned.
The BOLD Institute was created through a partnership between United Way of the Quad Cities and the Regional Development Authority, as well as generous sponsorship from the Hunt and Diane Harris Foundation, Hubell Waterman Foundation, and Kleine Family Endowment.
