BETTENDORF, IOWA (October 18, 2021) — United Way Quad Cities recently welcomed Angela Snyder to the newly-established role of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO). Snyder has more than fifteen years of experience in strategic growth and operations, business-development, marketing, and talent-cultivation.
“It is common today for the business community to talk about the disruption occurring in private industry at a dizzying pace. The non-profit sector is also facing similar winds of change and disruption,” said Rene Gellerman, president and CEO of United Way Quad Cities. “That’s why we’re not just taking the fork in the road, we’re forging the path by adding Angela to our team. She will help us approach the business of charity and impact with new creativity.”
As its name suggests, United Way unites resources throughout the Quad Cities, serving as a connection point for corporations, civic groups, individuals, and non-profits seeking to make a collective impact on our community’s education, income, and health.
“Last year, we finished by most accounts a very successful period in the history of this organization,” Gellerman said. “We moved from a community-chest funder to a community impact-model. We made significant progress on goals that we set way back in 2015. Today, as we continue to deal with the uncertainty of COVID and the challenging circumstances around race and equity, our community, even our nation, have come to a crossroads. We know that especially in challenging times like these, innovation is required to drive lasting impact.”
Prior to joining United Way Quad Cities, Snyder served in multiple strategic and business-development roles at Russell Construction. She developed and led a team of seven marketing and business-development professionals in two offices to achieve sales-revenue goals. She also drove the creation of an updated and improved employee performance evaluation process there.
According to Snyder, her leadership within several multi-year corporate strategic-planning processes prepared her well for her new role at United Way.
“As a long-term resident of this region who has lived, worked, and studied in many different environments, I’m sensitive to the issues facing our community,” Snyder said. “United Way Quad Cities’ ability to mobilize people and resources make it a powerhouse to create lasting and measurable change in our community. I’m looking forward to joining this top-notch team to lead and develop first in class experiences for our donors and stakeholders while building the kind of awareness that inspires others to discover that our United Way is the best and easiest place to help people and make a difference.”

Snyder also draws from years of community service. She serves on Augustana College’s President’s Advisory Council. Her past volunteer experience includes serving on Family Resources’ board of directors and marketing and development committee from 2010-2016; on the American Red Cross’ board of directors in 2019; and on United Way Quad Cities’ investment panel as well as a volunteer during Day of Caring for multiple years.
