Community Crime Prevention Partnership Meeting – Please join the City of Rock Island Police Department on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 for their monthly crime prevention meeting. This month’s topic will focus on crime scene investigation. These educational meetings are intended to strengthen the partnerships with the citizens of Rock Island and the Police Department. Meeting is scheduled to start at 6:00 pm at the Community Room of the Police Department at 1212 5th Avenue in Rock Island.
Water Treatment Filter Facility Meeting - The City of Rock Island will be conducting an informational meeting regarding the Water Treatment Filter Facility construction project on Thursday, September 21, 2017, from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Rock Island Center for Math & Science located at 2101 16th Avenue, Rock Island, Illinois. Please join City representatives and the contractor to discuss the project and how it will impact your property and school traffic until completed. Project plans will be available at the meeting for your review. This meeting will allow you to discuss your individual concerns and meet with the personnel involved with the work.
Thursday Night Groove Concert Series -The free "Thursday Night Groove" concert series continues at Schwiebert Riverfront Park on Thursday, September 21, 2017. Wicked Liz and the Bellyswirls will perform. Event is open from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Rock Island Happy Joes will have pizza for sale and Bent River beer will be available for purchase. Weather permitting.
Fall Community Garage Sale – Over 6,000 square feet of shopping for toys, trinkets, furniture, clothing, antiques and much more for this year’s Fall Community Garage Sale. Wrigley Field Bus Trip – The Rock Island Parks and Recreation Department are putting together a bus trip to Wrigley Field for Cubs vs. Cincinnati Reds game on October 1, 2017.
