Today, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) posted meeting materials and an updated agenda for the National Organic Standards Board (NOSB) Spring meeting, to be held in Denver, CO, April 19-21, 2017. Documents are posted on the Spring 2017 NOSB meeting webpage.

The NOSB is an advisory committee established by the Organic Foods Production Act of 1990 and administered through AMS. The NOSB recommends whether substances should be allowed or prohibited in organic production, handling, and processing, and advises the Department of Agriculture on other aspects of the USDA organic regulations.

The public is invited to register to provide verbal comments during one of two sessions: either during the in-person meeting, or during a webinar on April 13, 2017.  Written comments that address specific topics noted on the meeting agenda are also accepted in advance of the meeting. Information about how to provide written comments and/or sign up for oral comments can be found on the Spring 2017 NOSB meeting webpage.
