On Friday, June 2oth Davenport arts and entertainment club the Redstone Room will play host to hard rockers the Post Mortems, the cool and blistering Wax Cannon and the fine foot-stompers Chew Toy. All three acts hail from eastern Iowa and each brings their own improvised take on the state of American rock and roll. Chew Toy will bring along a tuneful mid-tempo pop sensibility with nods to Pavement. Wax Cannon have been known to offer up Ramones-esque rhythm and brit-pop influenced melody in speedy sets both raw and melody-driven. Headliners the Post Mortems offer a steady stream of quiet-to-loud rock in the vein of Smashing Pumpkins and the Tanks.
This music showcase will be a production of the Quad Cities River Music Experience, a not-for-profit music venue located on the second floor Redstone Room at 129 Main Street in Davenport. Doors will open at 8pm and there will be a $5 cover charge. 19 years and up admitted or anyone accompanied by a guardian.
