DES MOINES, IOWA (August 27, 2019) — Governor Kim Reynolds will host a roundtable with US Drug Czar Jim Carroll, Dale Woolery, Director of the Governor's Office of Drug Control Policy, and members of the law enforcement community in Cedar Rapids on Thursday, August 29, to discuss the fight against methamphetamine use.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 27, 2019) — Top dairies competed for honors in the Guernsey Dairy Cattle show judged at the 2019 Iowa State Fair.

Prairie Moon Guernseys, Waukon had a solid showing at the Fair taking home Champion Premier Exhibitor and Champion Premier Breeder.

South Lane Farm of Epworth earned Female Grand Champion. Prairie Moon Guernseys of Waukon took Reserve Champion Female Grand Champion.

DES MOINES, IOWA (August 27, 2019) — Yeast breads for the Whole Grain Breads with Red Star Platinum Yeast competition were judged Friday, August 16, at the 2019 Iowa State Fair.

Louise Piper of Garner claimed first place and a $75 cash award.

Charlene Hermiston of Blue Grass earned second place.

Entries were judged on shape, crust, texture and flavor.
