WASHINGTON DC (August 2, 2019) —

Q: Why is the USMCA trade agreement so important for Iowa?

America, John Quincy Adams said in 1821, "goes not abroad, in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own." That's as good a summary ever spoken of the non-interventionist position. US Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC) disagrees. He opposes President Trump's quest for a peace agreement with the Taliban in Afghanistan as "reckless and dangerous," entailing "severe risk to the homeland."

BURLINGTON, IOWA (August 2, 2019) — The Quad Cities River Bandits scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to finish a four-game sweep of the Burlington Bees with a 4-1 win on Friday night at Community Field. Alex Holderbach drove in the winning-run in the top of the ninth inning for the second straight night. The series sweep was the first of the second half for the River Bandits in a series that was more than two games in length.
