PEORIA, ILLINOIS (May 19, 2019) — The Quad Cities River Bandits did just enough to emerge with an 11-9 victory over the Peoria Chiefs in a wild back-and-forth affair at Dozer Park on Sunday afternoon. The River Bandits scored in six different innings with Peoria scoring in four different frames. The Bandits moved a season-high 13 games over .500 on the campaign.

SPRINGFIELD, ILLINOIS (May 19, 2019) — Frank M Clark, the former ComEd CEO and Chicago Board of Education President, has been installed as the new Chancellor of the Lincoln Academy of Illinois. Clark's three-year term as head of the organization began on Saturday, May 18, following the Lincoln Academy's annual Convocation, where six distinguished Illinoisans were recognized for their achievements.

PEORIA, ILLINOIS (May 18, 2019) — One big inning was the deciding-factor in the first two games of the Quad Cities River Bandits weekend-series against the Peoria Chiefs. That theme continued in the third game on Saturday night at Dozer Park. A six-run fourth-inning allowed the River Bandits to erase an early deficit and beat the Chiefs 6-2.

IOWA CITY, IOWA (May 17, 2019) — Senator Kamala Harris will campaign in Western and Central Iowa May 23 and 24. On Thursday, May 23, she will hold events in Sioux City, including a public town hall. On Friday, May 24, she will campaign in Council Bluffs and Des Moines. This will be Sen Harris’ fourth trip to Iowa since announcing her candidacy for president of the United States.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 17, 2019) — Iowa’s seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate remained at 2.4 percent in April. The state’s jobless rate was 2.6 percent one year ago. The US unemployment rate dropped to 3.6 percent in April.
