CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (May 14, 2019) — The Quad Cities River Bandits received four hits and three runs batted in from outfielder Austin Dennis as they took down the Cedar Rapids Kernels by an 11-2 score on Tuesday night. The 11 runs were the most scored by the Bandits in a game this season. Quad Cities has won 13 of their last 15 contests.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 14, 2019) — Scott County Secondary Roads and Scott County Conservation, in partnership with the Waste Commission of Scott County, will be assisting residents of unincorporated Scott County impacted by the recent Mississippi River and Wapsipinicon River flooding with flood debris collection. Due to the opioid crisis and other substance-abuse issues plaguing communities in Iowa and across the country, the number of kids in foster care is rapidly rising.

In 2017, there were 443,000 kids in care; 96,000 entered foster care because of parental substance abuse.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 14, 2019) — Beto O’Rourke will return to Iowa next Monday for his fourth trip to the state as a presidential candidate. Yesterday, O’Rourke announced that he will participate in a televised CNN Town Hall at Drake University in Des Moines on Tuesday. O’Rourke will also tour flood damage and hold a town hall in Davenport in addition to a town hall in Tipton.
