Yesterday, the House Judiciary Committee voted to hold Attorney General Barr in contempt of Congress.

Mr Barr has been transparent.

He made the Mueller report available to them — 99 percent un-redacted in the obstruction section of that report.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 9, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds and US Secretary of Labor Alexander Acosta announced a $3 million Dislocated Worker Grant (DWG) for Iowa, which will provide funding to create temporary employment opportunities to assist with flood clean-up and recovery efforts.

CLINTON, IOWA (May 9, 2019) — The Felix Adler Children’s Discovery Center, "Clinton, Iowa's Children's Museum," is making many magical moments in May. At WOW Wednesday you’ll experiment with leftover Peeps. Then, it’s time for music with Miss April and Miss Amanda at Funtime Friday. Each of these programs is free with regular museum admission or membership. Monday, May 20, brings a Pizza Ranch Fundraiser Night, 5-8PM, as well as Wendy’s Fundraiser Night, 5-7PM.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 9, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds announced the first awards for the Future Ready Iowa Summer Youth Intern Pilot Program for low-income students at risk of not graduating from high school. Nonprofit organizations and education institutions are among applicants awarded a total of $248,367 to host summer programs that prepare students for post-secondary education and training, including teaching-employability skills. More than 100 students will be served.

WASHINGTON DC (May 9, 2019) — The past months have been challenging, to say the least. The catastrophe on the Missouri River with the drastic flooding in southwest Iowa created enormous problems for the whole region. Then another catastrophe — barriers that held back the waters of the Mississippi River broke, devastating parts of Davenport and the surrounding area.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 9, 2019) — On May 7, 2019, The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) declared individuals in Louisa county eligible for individual assistance. FEMA determined that this county was adversely affected by the event declared a major disaster by the President in his Declaration of March 23, 2019.

On May 7, voters in Denver, Colorado narrowly approved a measure de-criminalizing "magic mushrooms" — mushrooms containing the consciousness-altering compound psilocybin. The measure, National Public Radio reports, "effectively bars the city from prosecuting or arresting adults 21 or older who possess them. In the ballot language, adults can even grow the fungus for personal use and be considered a low priority for Denver police."

HAMPTON, ILLINOIS (May 9, 2019) — Rock Island County Forest Preserve District is seeking volunteers on May 18, 10AM-12PM, at Illiniwek Forest Preserve to help remove an invasive species known as bush honeysuckle.
