DES MOINES, IOWA (May 10, 2019) — Today, Governor Kim Reynolds extended existing proclamations of disaster emergency for counties impacted by March flooding.

This proclamation extends the governor's activation of Iowa disaster response and recovery efforts for an additional 30 days to June 11, 2019, and allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather across the entire state.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 10, 2019) — The Putnam is calling members of the community to discuss how “race” is perceived during the free event, Envisioning Race, Thursday, May 16, at 7PM.

The event features a screening of the documentary “What’s Race Got to Do with It?” in the Putnam’s Giant Screen Theater. The film explores issues such as underrepresentation, the limitations of multiculturalism, social equity, affirmative action, and how to make a difference.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 10, 2019) — In response to Governor Reynolds' recent disaster declarations for five additional Iowa counties — Clinton, Louisa, Muscatine, Scott, and Wapello — the Iowa Department of Revenue has granted an extension and suspension of any penalty or interest for taxpayers whose principal residence or business is located in these counties.
