DES MOINES, IOWA (August 2, 2024) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced a number of staff changes in the Office of the Governor.

Stan Thompson has joined the office as senior legal counsel. Thompson previously served as deputy attorney general for civil litigation in the Iowa Attorney General’s Office, executive director of the Iowa Civil Rights Commission, and 35 years in private practice at Davis Brown Law Firm in Des Moines.

Units from the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, along with Bettendorf Fire Department and MEDIC EMS were dispatched. Bettendorf Police Department also responded to assist.

The governor's proclamation allows state resources to be utilized to respond to and recover from the effects of this severe weather and activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and Disaster Case Advocacy Program.

INDIANOLA, IOWA (July 31, 2024) — Madison Wardlow of Davenport, Iowa, has been named to the Spring 2024 Dean's List at Simpson College.

Wardlow qualified for the academic honor by earning a grade-point average between 3.70 and 3.99 during the semester.
