AMANA, Iowa- The fourth annual Wurst Festival will be held in the historical Amana Colonies on June 16, 2018. Named the Best New Event by the Iowa Tourism Commission in 2015, Wurst Festival is a one day event with the gates opening at 11am at the Market Barn area in the center of the village of Amana.

Join hosts Scott Siepker and Kellie Kramer as they travel around Iowa learning about outdoor recreation, environmental issues, conservation initiatives and Iowa's natural resources. The Quad City's first World Migratory Bird Day celebration and educational day is being held at the Quad City Botanical Center on June 2nd from 10am until 3pm. The day is a collaboration between the Quad City Botanical Center, US Fish and Wildlife Service and the Guardians of the Prairie and Forest. The event is free to attend. There will be featured speakers, educational booths, family activities such as crafts and games, and live bird demonstrations.

Galena, Illinois Bill Fawell, Republican candidate for the 17th Congressional District in Illinois, said that Facebook censored his Elect Fawell Facebook page in his run for a seat in the United States Congress. Fawell calls for Mark Zuckerman to step down from Facebook and that it come under heavy regulation.

Across rural Iowa, folks who live away from urban centers often have struggles getting assistance from Emergency Medical Services (EMS) when an emergency occurs. Patients in rural areas have the same acute and chronic medical conditions requiring an emergency response as those in urban areas do, however many rural EMS agencies face unique challenges in delivering quality care. Additionally, rural EMS agencies may be the closest, or even the only healthcare provider for these areas.
