(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds ordered all state flags in Iowa to be lowered to half-staff effective immediately until sunset on Monday, February 19, 2018, to honor the murdered and injured in Wednesday’s tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. The governor’s order is issued in conjunction with President Donald Trump’s order to lower all United States flags to half-staff for the same length of time.

The Machine Shed Restaurant is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The Machine Shed opened its first location in 1978 on the outskirts of Davenport, Iowa. Davenport, Iowa (Feb. 14, 2018) — Film-lovers will have a chance to see the world without leaving their seat as the World Adventure Series gears up for its final three programs of the season at the Putnam's Giant Screen Theater.

The series continues Feb. 20 by showcasing the “The Lure & Lore of Deserts” along with comments from film director Sandy Mortimer before and after the showing and concludes April 10 with “Guatemala: Land of the Maya.”
