ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 29, 2019) — Join the Quad City Botanical Center (QCBC) and Rock Island Parks and Recreation as we journey to Hazelton, Iowa, home to one of Iowa’s largest Amish communities.

Experience this unique culture with the help of a step-on guide. With horse and buggies passing by, we will visit several Amish country stores, tour an Amish farm and home, and savor all the flavors of a home-cooked Amish meal.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 16, 2019) — Members of the Quad City Botanical Center are invited to our annual Egg Hunt this Saturday, April 20, 8-10 AM. Bring your basket to fill with goodies and enjoy the outdoor hunt.

Four groups will gather for the 9AM hunt sorted by age: 0-2, 3-4, 5-7 and 8-12.

Crafts and games are included as our way of saying thank you for being a member of the Botanical Center.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (March 1, 2019) — We're celebrating orchids in March and you're invited to join us for painting, crafts and activities during Sunday Funday. The fun is for all ages.

Program is included with general admission and is free for members. No reservation required.

Calling all Butterfly lovers! Join us for Sunday Funday-Monarchs thisSunday, September 2nd from 1pm-3pm. Enjoy crafts, activities and learning during this drop-in program for all ages.

The Illowa Orchid Society is hosting it's 46th annual Spring Orchid Show at the Quad City Botanical Center on March 24th and March 25th, 2018.  Everyone is invited to attend this free event to learn about, view, and purchase orchids from vendors coming from all over the Midwest. Artists providing orchid related art will also be at the show.  This is an American Orchid Society sponsored event that will include judging, ribbon awards and promotions to national level shows.

Sample many things chocolate offered by local chocolate shops, coffee houses and other vendors. Spend time relaxing in the Sun Garden near our cacao tree while we tour the history of chocolate with you at this family-friendly event. Try a chocolate scented product from a beauty vendor or prick out the perfect Valentine's gift for your sweetheart!

 

Join us for the first annual Winter Garden Light Display at the Quad City Botanical Center! The outdoor gardens will be in winter bloom this December with thousands of glowing lights during Winter Nights, Winter Lights. Bundle up, stroll the gardens at night then warm up inside at the hot chocolate bar.

 

Exhibit is open on the following nights from 4:30pm-8:30pm:

Dec 4-7, 10-13, 16-20, 22-24 and 26-30.

 

Cost: $8 adults, $4 youth, under 2 free

We are currently seeking artists to be featured in our building and sell their work throughout the 2018 year.
