These additional commitments for time and money can zap the happy from the holidays, says Dawn Dunnegan, a human sciences specialist with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach. “With already hectic schedules, many of us add holiday shopping, baking, wrapping and decorating to our list of things to do,” said Dunnegan, who specializes in family life issues.

This past week, the U.S. House of Representatives proposed a tax bill that would have a disastrous effect on wind energy development in Iowa and the United States, threatening over 100,000 jobs. The proposed bill backs out of the bipartisan law that provides certainty and stability to the wind energy production tax credit, or PTC, a key federal policy that supports wind.
