Iowa State University College of Agriculture and Life Sciences students honored with Fred Foreman scholarship

AMES, IA (10/31/2017)-- A group of sixty student leaders in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences were honored for receiving the Fred Foreman Scholarship for Growth in Leadership Participation. The Foreman Scholarship is awarded to top students who serve the college through leadership roles as peer mentors, club officers and competitive teams with a preference for students in activities that assist in recruiting prospective students.

Grassley to Miller: Questions Remain on Fairness of Iowa EpiPen Settlement

Chuck Grassley wrote to Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller seeking further details and accompanying documentation regarding the state’s receiving $1.5 million as part of a Justice Department settlement with Mylan over EpiPen’s apparent misclassification under Medicaid’s Drug Rebate Program.

Gov. Reynolds, Lt. Gov. Gregg announce new statewide childhood health campaign

(DES MOINES) – Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg announced a new statewide childhood health campaign called “5210 – Healthy Choices Count” on Tuesday. The campaign is a public-private partnership with the Healthiest State Initiative and the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) to combat childhood obesity.

5210 is a nationally recognized childhood obesity prevention program that focuses on the importance of four simple daily health habits:

The TaxSlayer Center WILL RAISE ANNUAL CHRISTMAS TREE WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 1ST

(Moline, IL - Oct. 31, 2017) -The TaxSlayer Center's annual Christmas tree is scheduled to arrive this Wednesday, Nov. 1st at approximately 1:45 p.m. The tree is being donated by Jeff and Pam Griffith of East Moline. The tree is approximately 30 - 35' tall and is a Douglas Fir.  Media is invited and encouraged to attend as the tree is raised.
