Good evening,

Thank you for joining us here in the historic Old State Capitol in Springfield.

It was here in Representative Hall that Abraham Lincoln delivered a speech that would change the course of history, where he proclaimed: “a House divided against itself cannot stand.”

Our history reminds us of our state’s great capacity for change – and for our limitless potential when those elected by the people put the people’s interests ahead of all else.

The Amana Arts Guild Gallery in High Amana will display an exhibit of recent works by local area artists from July 6 through September 4. The Greater Amana Area Art Show includes all media from folk arts to fine art.  An open house is planned for Thursday July 6, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm.

Chief Justice Mark Cady has overstepped his boundaries

The Iowa Firearms Coalition condemns the latest order from Chief Justice Mark Cady and the Iowa Supreme Court prohibiting weapons in all Iowa courthouses. The edict, prohibiting weapons in courtrooms, court-controlled spaces and public areas of courthouses is judicial overreach, plain and simple.
