AMES, Iowa (January 10, 2017) - At Iowa State University's fall commencement ceremonies held Dec. 17, 2016, 2,148 students received degrees. Iowa State awarded 1,769 undergraduate degrees, 258 master's degrees, one veterinary medicine degree and 120 doctor of philosophy degrees.

Dubuque, Iowa (January 10, 2017) - Loras College has announced the names of students who achieved Dean's List status for the 2016 fall semester. A student must earn a 3.5 grade point average and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours to be recognized.

Among those students recognized were Paul J. Conway,  Jillian E. Knott,  Alyssa E. Simon, and  Courtney N. Walsh, all from Bettendorf, and  Mary K. Phillips of Davenport.

CLIVE, Iowa – A Davenport man said he was full of emotion when he scratched off a lottery ticket last week and won a big prize.

Danny Miller claimed the fifth of nine prizes of $10,000 available in the Iowa Lottery’s “Little Black Game Book” scratch game.

The 33-year-old said he stopped Friday for fuel at Expresslane, 321 N. Division St. in Davenport and decided to buy a scratch ticket, too. He said he scratched of his ticket and knew he won something.
