MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (October 2, 2025) — Monmouth College has been awarded a highly competitive TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) grant from the US Department of Education, totaling $1.3 million over five years. This funding will allow Monmouth to expand its commitment to supporting students who are first-generation, low-income, or have disabilities as they work toward earning their Bachelor's degree.

ADELPHI, MARYLAND (October 2, 2025) — More than 11,500 University of Maryland Global Campus students were named to the Dean's List for the summer 2025 term. To be eligible for the honor, a student must complete at least six credits during the term, earned a grade-point average of at least 3.5 for the term, and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 at UMGC.

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 1, 2025) — In a report issued today, the Iowa Attorney General’s Office has concluded that the August 27, 2025, fatal shooting of Michael Patrick Broyles by officers from the Iowa State Patrol, Council Bluffs Police Department, and Pottawattamie County Sheriff’s Office was legally justified. 

DES MOINES, IOWA (October 1, 2025) — Governor Kim Reynolds has announced she has appointed Mark Campbell as director of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services effective October 6, 2025.

A Fort Dodge native, Campbell is a small-business-owner who has also served his community for more than a decade as a Webster County Supervisor from 2013 to 2024.
