DAVENPORT, IOWA (August 18, 2023) — The Quad Cities Bicycle Club, in partnership with the Geneseo Brewing Company will be will be presenting the Heartland Tour 2023 a bicycle riding event on September 16, 2023. This great ride takes the participant through the beautiful countryside of Henry County, Illinois. The ride directors have designed a course that offers many options for a diverse population of riders.

MONMOUTH, ILLINOIS (August 18, 2023) — Veteran public safety expert Chris McLaughlin has joined Monmouth College's student affairs teams as director of campus safety and security.

McLaughlin came to Monmouth on August 1, after recently retiring from the Henry Hill Corrections Facility in Galesburg, Illinois, where he had over 25 years of progressive service. For many of those years, he served as the assistant warden and acting warden.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (August 17, 2023) — On Saturday, August 19, Coe College will welcome one of the largest and most geographically-diverse incoming classes in its 173-year history. With 436 new students indicating they are planning to enroll, the incoming class projects to be the third-largest class to ever enroll at the college.
