DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 10, 2023) — The Mississippi Valley Blues Society (MVBS) will once again hold the annual Blues Fest, September 15-16 on the banks of the Mississippi in beautiful and historic LeClaire Park, Davenport, Iowa. Following a successful 2022 Blues Fest, “We’re staying put in LeClaire Park,” said MVBS President, Kim Whitaker, “This is our home port, and people love the experience of Blues artists performing here, as do the artists.”

UNIVERSITY, MISSISSIPPI (May 10, 2023) — Elizabeth Howard, of Muscatine, Iowa, majoring in Mathematics, was among the more than eighty University of Mississippi students who were inducted into Phi Beta Kappa, the nation's oldest and most prestigious undergraduate honors organization in the liberal arts. The university held an induction ceremony on April 14, 2023, at Johnson Commons on campus.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 10, 2023) — Four Iowa high-school students have been named to the 59th class of US Presidential Scholars, one of the nation’s highest honors for high-school students. The program recognizes up to 161 high-school seniors from across the country for their accomplishments in academics, the arts, and career and technical education fields.
