DeKALB, ILLINOIS (January 13, 2023) — Northern Illinois University announces its fall 2022 Dean's List students. To earn this distinction, students must meet a minimum semester grade-point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in the College of Engineering and Engineering Technology or a minimum of 3.75 on a 4.0 scale in the colleges of Business, Education, Health and Human Sciences, Liberal Arts and Sciences, and Visual and Performing Arts.

LEXINGTON, VIRGINIA (January 13, 2023) — Bailey Petersen, a native of Davenport, Iowa, was recently initiated into the Simpson College Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa, the National Leadership Honor Society. The Society welcomed 646 new initiates from 23 universities during December 2022.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 13, 2023) — Iowa Secretary of State Paul Pate took his official oath of office for his fourth term on January 13 in the Rotunda of the Iowa Capitol Building. Upon taking his oath of office, Sec Pate has become the second-longest serving Secretary of State in Iowa history.

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN (January 13, 2023) - Mya Coene of Moline, Illinois, has graduated from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Coene earned a Bachelor of Science in Middle/Secondary Education.

Coene was one of 208 students to graduate from Marquette last semester.

MOLINE, ILLINOIS (January 13, 2023) — WQPT, Quad Cities PBS is holding their third on-air/online acution, The Auction is at Your House. The event will air on WQPT January 26, 8-10PM, while bidding starts on-line January 17.

DES MOINES, IOWA (January 13, 2023) — The Iowa Restaurant Association, which advocates with the state legislature and state agencies on behalf of Iowa’s 6,000+ restaurants and bars, has announced the group’s 2023 legislative priorities. The Association will collaborate on several issues with other industries seeking to address workforce shortages, as well as ways to alleviate a portion of credit card fees charged to businesses that collect state sales tax.

SEWARD, NEBRASKA (January 13, 2023) — Concordia University, Nebraska named 224 students to its honors list for the Fall 2022 semester. Students who earn a 3.90 GPA or higher while also completing at least twelve credit hours qualify for the honors list.

Andrew Pfeiffer of Bettendorf, IA earned a 3.90 GPA or higher while also completing at least twelve credit hours to qualify for the Fall 2022 honors list.
