DUBUQUE, IOWA (May 9, 2023) — Eight University of Dubuque students will conduct research with faculty on topics such as the impact of technological addiction on college student motivation or partake in internships in their intended profession in areas such as land management this summer through the John and Alice Butler Summer Research Fellowship.

ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (May 9, 2023) — A dozen Augustana College seniors are exhibiting their work at Wallenberg Hall at the Rock Island campus as part of the annual senior art show.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (May 9, 2023) — Gilda’s Club is offering a residential (overnight), in-person camp experience, at no cost, for children and teens (entering grades four through nine) impacted by cancer in their family. A collaborative camp partnership with Gilda’s Club Quad Cities, Camp Shalom, and Genesis Cancer Care Institute and will be held June 18-23.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 9, 2023) — Eleven top mixologists from across Iowa were invited to compete at the Iowa Restaurant Association's State Mixology Championships held May 4 at Smash Park in West Des Moines. Dubuque Mixologist Carl Busch of Hotel Julien was named this year's champion. Competitors created cocktails for a panel of judges during the day and were judged on taste, appearance, overall creativity, and personality.

DES MOINES, IOWA (May 9, 2023) — Governor Kim Reynolds has issued a disaster proclamation for Benton, Iowa, Jasper, Muscatine, and Poweshiek counties in response to severe weather that occurred on May 7. The governor's proclamation activates the Iowa Individual Assistance Grant Program and the Disaster Case Management Program for those counties.
