She was hired to fill the Program and Events Manager vacancy after Brielle Smeby’s promotion to Producer Outreach Director. Randall graduated from Iowa State University in May with a double major in Animal Science and Ag Communications.

CLIVE, IOWA (July 1, 2024) — Lauren Meier of Bondurant and Kirby Cook of Winthrop are spending their summers interning with the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA). Both are Iowa State University students interested in a career in agriculture.

CLIVE, IOWA (June 24, 2024) — One of the winning teams at Saturday’s BBQ and Brew at the Ballpark competition plans to donate all their earnings to help their neighbors in northwest Iowa who are dealing with severe flooding. A panel of celebrity judges chose Big Al’s Smokin Good BBQ from Le Mars as the winner for best Pork Butt. Big Al’s also won second place in the Pork Rib category, earning a total of $1,100.

CLIVE, IOWA (June 19, 2024) — The second annual BBQ and Brew at the Ballpark takes place this Saturday, June 22, at Principal Park in Des Moines. Attendees can consume numerous offerings of delicious Iowa pork, sample Iowa craft beers and ciders, learn barbecue tips from a grill master, vote for their favorites in the Backyard BBQ Contest, meet local celebrities, and enjoy live music performances.

CLIVE, IOWA (June 12, 2024) — The Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Brielle Smeby as its new Producer Outreach Director. Smeby, a 2023 graduate of Iowa State University with a major in Animal Science, brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the agriculture industry to her new role. She spent the past year as IPPA’s Program and Events Manager.

CLIVE, IOWA (May 14, 2024) — Pork producers across Iowa donated more than $43,000 worth of pork to local food pantries during the past few months. It was done in conjunction with the Pork in the Pantry program, organized by the Iowa Pork Producers Association (IPPA).
