DUBUQUE, IOWA (June 16, 2022) — While attending the Association of Business and Industry’s Annual Convention in Dubuque, Governor Kim Reynolds signed several workforce bills into law, including the reduction of the maximum number of weeks eligible for unemployment benefits from 26 weeks to sixteen weeks, adjustments to child-care ratios and age-requirements for child-care employees, and several licensing-reform changes.

DES MOINES, IOWA (June 16, 2022) — Iowa’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped for the fifth consecutive month to 2.7 percent in May — down from 3.0 percent in April and from 4.5 percent one year ago. Job growth was mirrored in the Labor Force Participation Rate, which grew to 67.6 percent in May, up from 67.4 percent last month and 67.1 percent a year ago. The US May unemployment rate remained at 3.6 percent.

WORCESTER, MASSACHUSETTS (June 15, 2022) — Ishanpepe Jagusah of Rock Island was named to the College of the Holy Cross Spring 2022 Dean's List.

A member of the Class of 2024, Jagusah was among more than 1,457 students named to the Dean's List for outstanding academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2021-22 academic year.

To qualify, students must pass four or more letter-graded courses with no failing grades during the semester and earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
