DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 14, 2022) — Organizers of this year’s “Life is Beautiful” concert and silent art auction are hosting the event on Saturday, November 19, 2-11PM, at the Raccoon Motel, 315 E 2nd St, Davenport.

The live silent art auction is 2-9PM, with music 3:30-11PM. There will be a free-will offering for concert admission. The art auction is organized by local artist Carolyn Krueger and features artwork from area artists.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 19, 2022) — Two Davenport Public Library employees were recognized at the annual Iowa Library Association (ILA) Conference last week in Coralville, Iowa.

CEDAR RAPIDS, IOWA (October 19, 2022) — The Iowa Women’s Foundation has announced the six recipients of its Core Grant program. The $150,000 grant program funds organizations across the state that address one of the barriers to women’s economic self-sufficiency that the Iowa Women’s Foundation has identified, which are child-care, housing, employment, education and training, mentorship, and transportation.

Each organization will receive $25,000.

DAVENPORT, IOWA (October 18, 2022) — Habitat for Humanity Quad Cities will hold its seventeenth annual “Mr and Ms Habitat” fundraiser Saturday, October 22, at The Isle Casino and Hotel in Bettendorf. The event is an important source of funding for local home-building and home-repair efforts. This tongue-in-cheek fundraiser begins at 5:30PM and features a silent auction, heavy appetizers, drinks, and games.
