ROCK ISLAND, ILLINOIS (April 8, 2022) — There are now more than 4.3 million Ukrainian refugees as Russia's brutal attacks on Ukrainian cities continue unabated.

We are shocked by the atrocities and war crimes being committed by Russian soldiers which include executions, rape, indiscriminate murders, bombing of hospitals, and more.

We in the the Jewish communities are doing what we can to raise funds to help the Ukrainian refugees and those trapped and unable to flee.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 8, 2022) — Brittney Rock of Atalissa, IA has been named to the Dean's List for the Winter 2022 quarter at Mercy College of Health Sciences in Des Moines, Iowa. To qualify for this academic recognition, students must attain a grade-point average (GPA) between 3.50 and 3.749, in their most recent semester, for a minimum of six credit hours.

DES MOINES, IOWA (April 7, 2022) — Dislocated workers across Iowa now have access to a new career pathway in a high-demand field. IowaWORKS, in conjunction with JobWorks Education and Training Systems, are partnering to offer the TechWorks training program to create an accelerated pathway toward a career in information technology.

WAVERLY, IOWA (April 7, 2022) — Andrew Ellison has been accepted into the Wartburg College Teacher Education Program.

Ellison, of Moline, had to demonstrate effective reflective components in teaching and complete several other requirements to be considered for the program.

Admission to the Teacher Education Program allows students to begin professional education courses in their field.
