WAVERLY, IOWA (March 3, 2025) — Robert Matera has been accepted into the Wartburg College Teacher Education Program.

Matera, of Davenport, Iowa, had to demonstrate effective reflective components in teaching and complete several other requirements to be considered for the program.

Admission to the Teacher Education Program allows students to begin professional-education courses in their field.

WAVERLY, IOWA (February 24, 2025) — Wartburg's Castle Singers and Kammerstreicher will continue their 2025 regional concert tour on Friday, February 28, with a performance at Christ's Family Church, 4601 Utica Ridge Rd, Davenport.

The concert will begin at 7:30PM and features the Bettendorf High School Chamber Orchestra led by Megan Cooney. A free-will offering will be accepted to support future tours.

WAVERLY, IOWA (December 20, 2024) — Wartburg College joins the community in mourning the loss of former US Representative James Leach, a longtime Iowa congressman and the inspiration behind Wartburg's James A Leach Chair in Banking and Monetary Economics. Leach's dedication to community banking and higher education led to the creation of this enduring tribute to his legacy.

WAVERLY, IOWA (May 28, 2024) — Recent Wartburg College graduate Georgia Nissen has been selected as one of two students to receive an RJ McElroy Graduate Fellowship.

Nissen, of Eldridge, Iowa, will receive up to $36,000 over three years as a fellowship recipient. This fall, she plans to pursue a doctorate in physics at Florida State University.

WAVERLY, IOWA (May 3, 2024) — Rachel Green of DeWitt, Iowa, was recognized at the Iowa Broadcast News Association (IBNA)'s annual conference in April.

Green who received third place in Public Affairs.

WAVERLY, IOWA (March 11, 2024) — Mia Lopez presented her summer research, "Polymer-based Gene/Drug Delivery Nanoplatforms for Pancreatic Cancer," at the annual Iowa Illinois Nebraska STEM Partnership for Innovation in Research and Education (IINspire) conference at Iowa State University in Ames.
