WAVERLY, IOWA (December 7, 2022) — Ninety-two Wartburg College fall sport student-athletes were named to the American Rivers Conference 2022 All-Academic Team.

WAVERLY, IOWA (October 6, 2022) — The Wartburg College chapter of the Phi Eta Sigma first-year honor society recently inducted 31 new members.

Those inducted include:

Zoey Long of Muscatine.

Rhaena Reece of Cordova.

Phi Eta Sigma is the oldest and largest freshman honor society. A student must achieve a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.5 and be in the top twenty percent of their class by the end of the first year.

WAVERLY, IOWA (July 11, 2022) — Samuel Reyes of Davenport, Iowa, was one of four Wartburg College students to present his ovarian cancer research at the 2022 annual meeting of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

The 2022 biochemistry graduates presented "Matrix Metalloproteinase-9 Promotes Membrane Protrusive Activity in Ovarian Cancer Cells."

WAVERLY, IOWA (July 7, 2022) — Wartburg College awarded dipolomas to 253 students during Spring Commencement on Sunday, May 29.

Conner Ambrosy, of Long Grove, who is graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion and history.

AVERLY, IOWA (July 6, 2022) — Roberto Munoz, who is conducting research as part of the 2022 University of Iowa Summer Research Opportunity Program, will present his research findings on Wednesday, July 27.

Munoz, a junior in biochemistry from East Moline, will share his work at the UI Summer Undergraduate Research Conference, 1-5PM, in the Iowa Memorial Union Main Lounge.

WAVERLY, IOWA (June 1, 2022) — Twelve Wartburg students were accepted into the college's Teacher Education Program.

Students must demonstrate effective reflective components in teaching and complete several other requirements to be considered for the program.

Admission to the Teacher Education Program allows students to begin professional education courses in their field.

WAVERLY, IOWA (May 3, 2022) — The Wartburg College Wind Ensemble will perform at 2PM, Sunday, May 15, at Central DeWitt High School as part of its 2022 American Heartland Tour.

Freewill donations will be accepted, with all proceeds benefiting future Wind Ensemble tours.

WAVERLY, IOWA (April 29, 2022) — The Wartburg College Opera Workshop will present two one-act operas, "Trial by Jury" and "The Old Maid and the Thief," on May 6 and 7.

Annette Baker, of Davenport, Iowa, will play Angelina the Plaintiff in "Trial by Jury."

The operas will begin at May 6, 7:30PM, and May 7, 3PM, in McCaskey Lyceum. All tickets are $10 general admission or free for Wartburg students with an ID.

WAVERLY, IOWA (April 12, 2022) — Georgia Nissen, of Eldridge, Iowa, was one of three Wartburg College students inducted into the Sigma Pi Sigma physics honor society in April.

Sigma Pi Sigma was founded in 1921 to honor outstanding scholarship in physics, to encourage interest in physics at all levels, and to promote an attitude of service in its members. More than 90,000 scholars have been inducted into the honor society.
