Rep Cheri Bustos Commemorates National Public Schools Week

WASHINGTON DC (February 23, 2022) — Representative Cheri Bustos (IL-17) has recognized National Public Schools Week which runs February 21-25. The American Rescue Plan, which Bustos helped pass, secured more than $595 million for public schools in Northwest and Central Illinois K-12 schools to stay open safely and make up for lost learning time.

Local Students Among Those Honored on 2021 Fall Dean's List at Lewis University

ROMEOVILLE, ILLINOIS (February 18, 2022) — Just over 1,400 students were honored on the Lewis University Dean's List for the 2021 Fall Semester. To be eligible for this honor, students must have completed a minimum of twelve credit hours during the semester with a grade-point average of at least 3.5 and with no "D" or "F" grades.

Johan Gonzalez of Moline (61265) is studying Chemistry.

Gov Kim Reynolds Appoints David Cox as District Court Judge

DES MOINES, IOWA (February 18, 2022) — Governor Kim Reynolds today announced her appointment of David Cox as a district court judge in Judicial District 6.

Cox, of North Liberty, Iowa, currently serves as a magistrate in Johnson County and practices law with Bray and Klockau PLC in Iowa City. Cox received his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and his law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law.

Upper Iowa University Community Provides Giving Day Support

FAYETTE, IOWA (February 18, 2022) — The Upper Iowa University (UIU) community once again showered the University with its support during the recent UIU Giving Day celebration as more than 575 donors contributed approximately $88,000 as part of the annual event. As part of this year's Valentine's theme, couples who each graduated from UIU were asked to share their love for UIU through the Couples Giving Day challenge.
